Participation framework
Terms & conditions
By booking or joining an AFTER6 RIDERS ride, the participant acknowledges having read and accepted these terms.
1. Purpose
AFTER6 RIDERS organises group bike rides. The booking grants access to the chosen ride and, when the option is selected, use of a bike subject to availability.
2. Booking and payment
The booking is confirmed once payment is validated. The participant must provide accurate information and a reachable WhatsApp number. The applicable price is the one displayed at the time of booking.
3. Participation requirements
The participant declares being physically fit for cycling and having no known medical contraindication. They undertake to respect road rules, the guides' instructions, other participants and the equipment provided.
Wearing a proper helmet is strongly recommended. The participant must use a bike in good condition, have working lights when conditions require, and immediately report any issue to the guide.
4. Risks and liability
Cycling on public roads carries inherent risks, including falls, collisions and incidents related to traffic, weather, road conditions or third-party behaviour. The participant acknowledges these risks and remains responsible for their own conduct, alertness and compliance with safety rules.
AFTER6 RIDERS cannot be held liable for damage resulting from the participant's fault, non-compliance with instructions, an unforeseeable act of a third party or an event of force majeure. This limitation does not apply where damage results from a proven fault of the organiser, a breach of its safety obligations, or in any other case where the law forbids excluding or limiting liability.
Each participant is invited to check that they have public liability insurance covering cycling. Personal belongings remain under the participant's care throughout the ride.
5. Rented equipment
The participant undertakes to take care of the bike provided, to use it as intended, and to report any anomaly. They may be held responsible for damage resulting from clearly unsuitable or negligent use, excluding normal wear.
6. Change or cancellation
For safety reasons, notably in case of bad weather or circumstances making the route dangerous, AFTER6 RIDERS may change the time or route, or postpone the ride. Participants are notified as soon as possible via WhatsApp.
7. Punctuality and lateness
Participants must be present at the meeting point at the time given at booking. In case of lateness, the AFTER6 RIDERS team contacts the participant on their WhatsApp number. If lateness exceeds 15 minutes, the participant cannot join the group and the ride is considered as not taken. Such lateness gives no right to a refund, credit or automatic reschedule. Participants are invited to plan for traffic and to reach out quickly in case of any issue.
8. Behaviour and exclusion
The organiser may refuse or stop the participation of anyone whose behaviour endangers the group, who is under the influence of alcohol or substances, or who refuses to follow instructions. Such a safety-related exclusion does not automatically give right to a refund.
9. Applicable law
These terms are governed by the law applicable in the Republic of Benin. In case of dispute, the parties will first seek an amicable solution before any action before the competent courts.
